This program is being developed to establish its curriculum and format. Registration is not open. No payments are being accepted. Dates, venue, faculty, tuition, hours, and all program details remain subject to change.

Professional practice cannot be learned from the neck up.

The Professional Practice Institute is designed as ACFP’s foundational intensive: a faculty led progression from evidence and principles into movement laboratories, program design, human communication, ethical judgment, and a demanding capstone case.

Participants will not spend five days passively collecting slides. They will coach, move, observe, write, question, revise, and defend decisions among colleagues who take the work seriously.

Return to practice visibly better.

01

Evaluate evidence

Distinguish useful evidence from confident noise and explain how limits affect professional decisions.

02

Coach foundational movement

Observe, teach, adapt, and defend foundational strength movements in a live laboratory.

03

Design adaptable programs

Build coherent programs that reflect physiology, client circumstances, available resources, and change over time.

04

Exercise professional judgment

Recognize scope, referral points, ethical tensions, and situations where no protocol supplies the entire answer.

05

Improve human practice

Use better interviews, communication, and behavior strategies without confusing coaching with therapy or medicine.

06

Integrate the work

Present and defend a complete professional response to a complex client case.

A curriculum with an arc.

The proposed schedule moves from the shared responsibilities of the profession to evidence, physical practice, program design, human behavior, and integrated judgment. Session titles and sequence remain in development.

Seriousness is the prerequisite.

The Institute is intended for personal trainers, strength and conditioning professionals, coaches, fitness managers, exercise science graduates, advanced students, educators, and allied professionals seeking a rigorous view of practice.

No single certification is proposed as a prerequisite. Participants should arrive with foundational knowledge of anatomy, physiology, exercise technique, and program design. Students should ordinarily have completed substantial undergraduate coursework in a related field.

Student and emerging professional access

What the complete institute would require.

01
